DIY: Colon Cleanser Tea Recipe

This homemade detox tea recipe is warm lemon water on steroids. With additional ingredients like:
  • Soothing Ginger
  • Anti-Inflammatory Turmeric
  • Metabolism Boosting Cayenne
  • Infection-Fighting Cinnamon
Why is this Lemon Ginger Turmeric Tea called a “Detox Tea Recipe”?
When I say “detox tea” I want to clarify — this is NOT a cleanse or meal replacement.

The phrase “detox tea” seems to be the hot new marketing phrase used to push products that frankly, include questionable ingredients (like caffeine and laxatives) which can actually dehydrate you.

On the contrary, this homemade detox tea is made up of simple, real food ingredients designed to SUPPORT healthy digestion and immune system function.

I drink this lemon ginger tea daily in addition to my regular diet. You can read more on the specific health benefits of each ingredient below.

What are the health benefits of this Turmeric Lemon Ginger Tea?

Sip this caffeine-free, detox tea anytime during the day to:
  • Boost your immune system and fight infection
  • Increase digestion and gut health
  • Reduce pain and inflammation
  • Increase weight loss
Let’s break it down the benefits of drinking this homemade detox tea ingredient-by-ingredient (there are only five ingredients).

Lemon Ginger Turmeric Tea Ingredients:

1. Lemons

Lemons are a good source of vitamin C, which is one of the most important antioxidants in nature and can help boost your immunity.
They also aid the body in removal and prevention.

2. Ginger

Ginger is my go-to for any type of tummy trouble. Ginger increases the speed at which food empties from the stomach into the intestines; therefore, it helps with:

  • indigestion
  • acid reflux
  • bloating
  • gas
Ginger is also great for fighting inflammation.

3. Turmeric

Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory, high in antioxidants.
Curcumin, the main ingredient in turmeric, supports the immune system in its ability to fight infection and it has pain relieving properties (good-bye headaches).

*Note: Option to also add a dash of black pepper to this turmeric tea as that has been known to help “activate” the healing effects of turmeric.
