Epic Moments From 2022 OSCARS

Did you the miss 2022 Academy Awards? Don't freight, we have got the full scoop!

The 94th Academy Awards ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, honored the best films released between March 1 and December 31, 2021, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on March 27, 2022. The ceremony was hosted by Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes.

This year's Academy awards had some iconic epic moments that will be talked about for a very long time.

 BEYONCE'S PERFORMANCE

Beyonce is one of the most iconic performers of all time and the stage is always bowing to Queen Bee.  She opened the 94th Academy Awards with a gorgeous performance of her song "Be Alive," The song was nominated for Best Original Song at this year's ceremony and features in the acclaimed film King Richard, starring Will Smith as Venus and Serena Williams' father, Richard.

Beyoncé's performance marks the first time in years that the singer has taken the stage. The last Bey's performance was dated back to Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi's funeral in 2020.

IF U TALK, U COLLECT

This is the most talked about scene; Will Smith slapped Chris Rock in the face on stage at the Oscars after the comic made a joke about the actor's wife Jada Pinkett Smith.

"Jada, can't wait for GI Jane 2," Chris said, in an apparent reference to her shaved hairdo - a result of the hair loss condition alopecia. Smith walked on stage and struck Rock before returning to his seat and shouting: "Keep my wife's name out of your  mouth."

He later apologized on stage.

"I want to apologize to the Academy. I want to apologize to my all my fellow nominees," he said during a tearful acceptance speech for best actor.

However, OSCAR had this to say;

ZENDAYA'S DRESS

Zen is definitely the best dressed for the night. Holly Molly!  she had everyone screaming. The 25 years old Euphoria star wore a Valentino Haute Couture white cropped shirt and silver sequin embroidered evening skirt. She completed the look with Valentino Garavani shoes covered in crystals, and tons of Bulgari bling, including stacks of diamond bracelets on both wrists and a diamond necklace.

REGINA HALL AND THE COVID TEST

Regina Hall had a great bit in the beginning of the ceremony, announcing “lost” COVID results of certain actors who she would call up on stage for emergency testing. This was all a ploy to get some of the most dashing men at the show up on stage so that she could “swab the backs of their throats with her tongue.” She pulled Bradley Cooper, Jacob Elordi, Tyler Perry, Simu Liu and TimothĂ©e Chalamet out of their seats. After they went backstage to “get tested,” Hall frisked Josh Brolin and Jason Momoa before they presented an award.

MEGAN THEE STALLION'S PERFORMANCE

Not only did we sing about Bruno, but Megan Thee Stallion made a special guest performance to rap about Bruno after “Encanto” won Best Animated Film. Stephanie Beatriz, who voices Mirabel, also jumped in to sing some lines alongside the rest of the cast.

ARIANA DEBOSE WIN FOR THE QUEER COMMUNITY

Ariana DeBose also made the 2022 ceremony a night to remember as she took home Best Supporting Actress for her scene-stealing performance in West Side Story. She has become the first openly Queer actor to be recognized by the Academy as although many LGBTQ stars have been nominated and won Oscars in the past, none have done so while out.
